We are interrupting our OMD2 nail art challenge posts for a quick review!
This week I received a package with two samples from the Bornprettystore. They kindly let me pick two items from their new arrivals to test and review for my readers!
I picked these tiny dried flowers and a sheet of water decals. Today I shall be reviewing the water decals, look forward to my review about the flowers, hint: It'll be on one of my upcoming OMD2 nail designs!
If you are not familiar with water decals, let me jus tell you, they are amazing! The sheet I received is the one you see in the photo below, it has different rows of lace designs in pink and yellow which you can cut to fit your nail perfectly. This sheet costs $2.86 but is currently selling for $2.29, of course, if this is not your style, you can find many other designs of water decals on their site!

Now, let me show you why exactly I think that water decals are the best thing ever invented. They are so easy and fun to apply, here's a quick how-to:
- Choose the image you want to transfer onto your nails and use a scissors to cut it out from the sheet.
- Remove the clear plastic sheet from your image and place the paper with the image into a small bow of water.
- Let the image soak for around 10-15 seconds, then pick it up (I usually do this with tweezers).
- Gently slide the image off the white backing paper, it should come off with no problem. If not, you need to put it back into the water to soak for a bit longer.
- Place the image on your nail, you will have a few seconds to shift it around until you are happy with your placement. It will stick by itself, no top coat needed!
- Carefully press the image on and even out any creases and folds.
- Use a paper towel to gently dab away the excess water from you nail and you're done!
Normally I will seal in my designs with a top coat. The decals come off when you remove your nail polish, they dissolve and do not leave any hard to remove residue like some nail stickers do.
As you see, they are very easy to use and the results look really pretty too! The only downside to these are that with bigger images, there might be some creasing. The rounder your nails, the more prone you are to get creases in your images. Also, not all images are opaque, the yellow decals I used wouldn't show up over darker polishes, so I used them on a white base.
Besides those two points, I can highly recommend water decals! Head over to Bornprettystore and get 10% off your order using the code SUHX31. They also offer free worldwide shipping!
