Hello,
So the other day I painted my nails with this blue no.651 Cool Blue by Maybelline's Colorshow and it made me think about the beach manis I've been seeing a lot lately, so I thought I'd give them a shot since it matches todays outdoor theme as well.
I started with two coats of blue and let it dry completely. Then, similar to water marbling, I dripped a bit of white polish into a small bowl of water and let it spread. The white I used is OPI's Alpine Snow, I then quickly sprayed it with some hair spray to create holes in the surface. This step was a lot of trial and error, I tried most alcohol based spray bottles I could find in my apartment. I had a bronzing spray that never made me tan, but it staines the polish AND my skin brown... So I tried a few hair sprays and finally once by Schwarzkopf did the trick. I heard hand sanitizers work best, but mine are all in normal bottles (not spray bottles) but I'll get one for next time.
Finally I added some beach sand with a light brown polish, added a little star glitter and covered everything with a shimmery top coat. My accent nail is a nail decal I made myself using Moyou London's Sailor plate no.04.
