Good morning lovelies!
As you might have read on my last post, I am currently wearing the lovely Navigate Her by Essie. While plain nails, especially with a nice cream, are nice to look at and have this clean look of simplicity, I couldn't help but do some nail art on it. Thus I whipped out one of the plates from my most recent Moyou London order and got to work.
Here's what you'll need for this look:
- Essie - Navigate Her
- Kiko Mirror - 617: for stamping
- Moyou London stamping plate - Explorer Collection no. 21
- Stamper and scraper
- Remover and Q-tips for clean-up
- Optional but highly recommended: a base and top coat
3 coats of Essie's Navigate Her. |
Notice the very warped middle finger... |
This is not my first time stamping, but I definitely need more practice! I can't quite put my finger on it yet, but my images usually turn out more or less warped, this is especially noticeable on my middle finger. While I do kinda like the abstract feel this look has to it, I'd also like to be able to stamp crisp, geometric designs.
My thumb turned out more or less OK. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the soft stamper I'm using, the Moyou London stamper is very soft, compared to the Konad one I own. Perhaps it's the polish? The Kiko polish had already dried almost completely on the stamper, so it was just moist enough to stick to my nail. The rest of the image would just hang off the tip of my nail like you'd know it from decals or nail wraps.
Well, practice makes perfect!
What are your favourite polishes for stamping?
To bad the pigmentation is a bit poor. I love the color. My fave stamping polishes.... the magnetic kind ones. you can find a whole list on my blog ;-)
AntwortenLöschenI never thought of using magnetic polishes before, but that's a great idea! :D
