travelogue: barcelona 2015

Wahrscheinlich hat das gar niemand so richtig mitbekommen, aber mich hat's Ende Mai für zwei Tage geschäftlich nach Barcelona verschlagen. Natürlich gab's auch ein kleines bisschen Freizeit, die für reges Lack-Shopping genutzt wurde.
Was gibt's in Barcelona? Einen Kiko, einen Flormar, der sich bisschen versteckt und viele asiatisch-orientalische "Supermärkte" in denen man hin und wieder auch was Spannendes findet. Und natürlich in den Warenhäusern die gängigen Drogeriemarken, die man auch hierzulande findet.

Diesen Monat habe ich versucht ganz brav zu sein (zum Glück hat niemand meine Ausbeuten aus München und Milano letzten Monat gesehen...), was mir überraschend einfach gefallen ist. Das liegt sehr wahrscheinlich daran, dass ich diesen Monat meine Fellnasen adoptiert habe und meine Finanzen und Zeit erst mal dorthin geflossen sind.

Hello fellow Nail Addicts,

January was a crazy month filled with sale-bin-digging. Call me weird, but I actually prefer bowls of random polish ready for you to venture through for some treasure. I hit up quite a few stores and sale bins, so I'll spare you all my hot spots and just show you the polishes sorted by brand. I also bought very little stuff at regular prices, so lets start with those.

Januar war ein verrückter Monat, gefüllt mit Sale-Schüsseln voller Lack. Vielleicht klingt das seltsam, aber ich mag es viel lieber in solchen Schüsseln nach Schätzen zu graben, als alles schön organisiert im Regal vor mir stehen zu haben. Da ich diesen Monat in so vielen Läden war, zeige ich euch die Lacke einfach nach Marken sortiert. Fangen wir aber mit den wenigen Lacken an, die ich zu regulären Preisen mitgenommen habe.

Last month I was all about not buying anything in December, so naturally on December 1st, I went out and bought 4 bottles of polish. #fail. I also received some orders I had placed back in November, so those kinda don't count...

Letzten Monat meinte ich ja noch, dass für Dezember ein Kaufstopp gilt, natürlich bin ich da sofort am ersten Dezember los gezogen und habe mir 4 neue Lacke geholt. #fail. Es trudelten auch ein paar Bestellungen ein, die ich schon im November gemacht hatte, also zählen die nicht wirklich...

Hello Beautiful Nail Addicts,

Sorry for the huge Swatch'd spam and load of preview posts, but I promise the next couple of posts will be dedicated to Nail Art again!

September's gone and I've been doing a lot of Retail Therapy this month. I tried to avoid the physical shops and only popped in once in a while to keep an eye on the limited edition displays, but the more I got sucked in at the online shops! I already spend a lot of time on the net as is, but when I get bored/sad/lonely/whatever I usually come to a point where I end up browsing online shops and eventually buy something... It's a very very bad habit!
While it may not show as much anymore, I am still on my stamping trip and I've amassed a couple new plates for my collection.

Travelogue: Milano 2014

Hi Lovelies,

My office shipped me out to Milano for two days to visit a convention, gotta love a job that sends you on adventures! I was accompanied by (or rather I accompanied) my colleague who originally introduced me to the magic that is Kiko! So there's a mandatory Kiko Milano visit everytime we are there, sometimes even two or three...

After my London Travelogue, I thought I could blog about my adventures and treasure findings in Milano too. Not really in-depth, I was there mainly for work, but I could sneak in a bit of polish shopping while store-checking. So here's an itty bitty shopping guide if you're ever in Milano, even just for the day or a long-ish stopover.

Another month has ended, which means it's time for another MDR! If you haven't read my first post in this category, let me fill you in quickly. It's basically a retrospective of what has joined my collection during the past month. A monthly haul recap, you could say.

This month has been crazy, although it may not seem like I bought a lot as I'm not including my London haul (I have shown you thos in a seperate post, just follow this link :)

I tried to control myself this time and just focus on the limited editions, I will try to do so for the rest of the year too so I can work through my London haul and also use some untrieds and old polishes.

Travelogue: London 2014

Hello,

So I finally, finally, FINALLY managed to put this together! I wanted this to be a little more than just a haul post, thus I tried to add as much info about where to find stuff and get around London. A bit like a guide to London for nail polish addicts, if you know what I mean. I'm not native to London, but I think if I, a mere tourist, could find these places, chances are you'll find them just fine as well.

First is the most obvious you will want to visit and that's the drugstore. London, and I'm guessing the rest of the UK, has two big drugstore chains which are Boots and Superdrug. You'll find them anywhere, really. In Victoria Station alone there are two Boots and a Superdrug! And you'll love them. They have most of the big brands there and I found offers on pretty much all of them: 3 for 2, buy 2 for a special price or get a free product, buy one and get the second 50% off... So I'll just walk you through the brands and offers I found there.

Monthly Damage Report: July 2014

Hello Beautiful Nail Addicts,

Inspired by the Monthly Favourites a lot of Bloggers and Youtubers do at the end of each month, I've decided to start my own end-of-month theme, but with a twist. I can't say I have new favourites every month, so it would be a little hard for me to introduce them to you. However, I do buy ~~a lot of~~ polish every month, so why not show you that instead? It also helps me to keep track of my ~~shopping addiction~~ collection.

I decided to call mine the Monthly Damage Report, MDR for short. Damage refers to the one caused to my wallet, obviously. Here I will show you what I have amassed during the past month and also mention where I found it (if I remember, which I mostly do), also let me know if you would like a review of anything you see here. If I've already done a review, I will link it in the item descriptions below.

This doesn't just include nail polishes, but anything related too! Tools, nail care, nail art stuff... You name it. So lets end this long boring introduction and get to the interesing part, now shall we?

Oh, please note the mid-season sales are happening here right now, I'm not usually this bad. Or at least I'd like to think so...

So I walked in on a nail polish sale... (haul + announcement)

My dear polish-a-holics,

Yesterday I was a bit early for my Japanese class in the evening, so I was randomly browsing the stores in town and then it happened... The department store was having their mid-season sale and it didn't take me long to navigate to the nail polish bucket.

As I dug my way through the big glass bowl, it felt like this was some old stash they had forgotten in their warehouse, there were limited editions and old collections from years before I got into the hobby. I spent a good 10 minutes digging and keeping everyone else waiting, finally I picked these:

New in: Catrice - Limited Edition Le Grand Bleu

Hello fellow polished people!

While I was out polish hunting, I also picked up some colours from the new Limited Edition by German brand Catrice. It's known under the name 'Le Grand Bleu' and you guessed it, the main theme is blue and ta-daa, the polishes I picked are also all blue (there was one gold-ish polish and the other was a light lavender, but I passed on those).

New in: Maybelline - Color Show Acid Wash

Hellou!

Actually I was looking for the Bleached Neons from Maybelline's Color Show line, but with no luck. I don't even think we ever had those here in Switzerland... I found leftovers from the Street Artist collection, but one supermarket had their Limited Editions section stocked with 4 new polishes from the Acid Wash collection. When I saw it, I was all "say whaat?", I wasn't expecting this as I hadn't seen this collection on any blogs or Instagram. Naturally, I picked out two, learned my lesson after I passed up a full limited edition display from Essence only to find it licked clean after I was done procrastinating for a week...
