Matte nails are the sh*t currently and seriously, nothing beats matte nails in the cold season! More and more brands are catching up to this trend and there are a few matte top coats out on the market. I received Zoya's matte top coat to review and show you guys.

Matte Nägel sind zur Zeit voll angesagt und sind wir mal ehrlich, was gibt es in der kalten Jahreszeit tolleres als matte Nägel? Immer mehr Marken kriegen den Trend mit und inzwischen gibt es einige matte Top Coats auf dem Markt. Ich habe den von Zoya zum Testen erhalten und möchte ihn euch heute zeigen.



To test the matte top coat I created a quick Skittle mani using black, white, a coloured polish and a stamped accent nail. I wanted to see how much the top coat would change the colours and also if it would smear the stamped design, as that is a huge issue with matte top coats. Before applying the top coat, I let everything dry for about an hour.

Um den matten Top Coat zu testen habe ich eine kleine Skittle mani kreiert mit schwarz, weiss, einem Farblack und einem gestampten Akzentnagel. Ich wollte sehen wie der Top Coat die verschiedenen Farben verändert und ob er das Stamping verschmieren würde, da dies oft ein Problem bei matten Top Coats ist. Bevor ich den Top Coat aufgetragen habe, habe ich alles etwa eine Stunde gut trocknen lassen.



As you can see, there was no smearing, not even on the stamping (all flaws were due to my low stamping skills) and this is by far the mattest finish I've ever seen. However, I did have one issue with this top coat, but I'm not sure if this has to do with the different brands used for this "test". You might be able to tell from my pinky, after the top coat started drying it cracked! Similar to a crackle polish, just not as strong. I only noticed this in combination with the black polish (by Essence), I had a huge crack down my thumb and pinky, however only in the top coat, the base coat wasn't affected. 
However, the white (Essie) and red (P2) polishes were fine and didn't crack. On their Swiss website Zoya does mention about mixing different brands and how this can affect the quality of their products, so you might want to do your own trial and error tests combining this top coat with non-Zoya polishes.

Wie ihr seht wurde nichts verschmiert, auch nicht beim Stamping (alle Unperfektionen im Stamping sind Folge meines Nichtkönnens...) und das ist bei weitem das matteste Finish, das ich je von einem matten Top Coat gesehen habe! Einziges Problem das ich mit diesem Lack hatte, nach dem Trocknen ist er bei gewissen Nägeln "aufgeplatzt", also ähnlich wie ein Crackle Lack, nur nicht so extrem. Ihr erkennt es auf den Fotos vielleicht an meinem kleinen Finger, ich hatte bei einem der Lacke (dem schwarzen von Essence) grosse Risse in der Mitte des Nagels, jedoch nur im Top Coat, der Lack darunter blieb unverseht. Beim weissen (Essie) und roten (P2) Lack hatte ich jedoch keine Probleme, die wurden einfach schön matt.
Zoya empfiehlt auf der Schweizer Site, dass man die Zoya Produkte nicht mit anderen Marken mischt, da es sonst zu Einbussen in der Qualität kommen könnte, von daher würde ich euch empfehlen eure eigenen Kombinationstests durchzuführen, wenn ihr euch diesen Top Coat holt.
