the feline's claws

Heute endlich wieder fast pünktlich zu "Lacke in Farbe...und bunt!"..! Die Farbe der Woche heisst dieses Mal Taubenblau und auch wenn ich Tauben so gar nicht ausstehen kann, gefällt mir die Farbe sehr und wie es der Zufall wollte habe ich auch ein schönes Taubenblau aus Milano mitgebracht. (Zudem wimmelt es auf dem Domplatz von Tauben, ha.)






Cookie Monster von Flormar ist für mich ein perfektes Taubenblau mit Cremefinish. Was den Lack selbst angeht, bin ich noch etwas unschlüssig... Der Auftrag schien etwas streifig, wobei sich der Lack kurze Zeit schön geglättet hat. Mit dem Pinsel konnte ich persönlich nicht soviel anfangen, da mir lange, schmale einfach nicht so liegen... Die Deckkraft war wieder so etwas Unschlüssiges, an manchen Stellen haben mir die zwei Schichten nicht gereicht, aber sie decken doch ganz okay...

Is there an English word for "Taubenblau"? Pidgeon Blue? Now that just sounds ridiculous... It's not cornflower either, that would be a little more lilac tinted, no? I could just ponder over colours all day long. Honestly. Anyway, this colour is the perfect tone of Pidgeon Blue, even if I don't like pidgeons in general, I really like the colour. 
Beautiful creme finish, but that's all I can say, I'm pretty undecided about everything else. This polish is opaque in two coats, well, kinda. Some nails seemed like they could do with a third coat, others seemed fine. I'm normally rather clumsy with narrow, long brushes, but the formula was... Undecided. It seemed streaky at first, but then it spread out nicely. 


Für die Deko wollte ich eigentlich einen schönen Marmoreffekt mit der Waterspotted Technik machen, anfangs mit Silber und Schwarz, doch das Schwarz schien mir dann doch etwas zu hart und so wurde daraus weiss.
Immer wenn ich aufräume, finde ich meine Sachen nicht mehr, so auch mein Desinfektionsspray. So musste kurzerhand eine Alternative her, wie praktisch dass sich nach dem Aufräumen ein kleines Körbchen mit Parfumproben angesammelt hat, jetzt riecht die Wohnung auch noch Tage später nach Paco Rabanne. Als erstes durfte eine gebrochene Schicht My Signature is DC von OPI drauf, die sah noch ganz gut aus, doch irgendwie wollte sich das Weiss nicht so schön trennen und hat dementsprechend viel Fläche abgedeckt... Sieht ein bisschen aus die Taubenkacke.

For the nail art I wanted a nice marble effect using the water spotted technique. Originally I thought of silver and black, but then I went with white since the black seemed a little too hard against the blue and silver.
Well, whenever I tidy up the place I can't find anything. So naturally I couldn't find my desinfecting spray either... I needed an alternative, luckily I had accumulated a basket of perfume samples while cleaning up, so I used one of those (and days later, my apartment still smells like Paco Rabanne...) First I went with a spotted coat of My Signature is DC by OPI, which looked quite nice. Then I spoiled it all with the white, since it didn't want to "seperate" as much and covered up most of the rest... Looks a lot like pidgeon poop.
